Selecting A Great Background for Your Video
Whether you are in a video shoot or are having a video conference, the background you choose is more important than you may think. Many times, people choose to go with natural surroundings only to realize that they have displayed things that shouldn’t have shown in public. If you are looking for video backgrounds, here are some things you need to keep in mind.
Its motion shouldn’t be too fast
You wouldn’t want to make it tough for people to focus on you due to distractions caused by the background. This is only possible when the background you are using is standstill or doesn’t move too fast. If you are going to use any background that involves motion, make sure it is not too fast and appeals to those who are in the webcam with you. Fast-moving backgrounds also make it hard for people to see any text that appears on the screen.
Your presentation and background should complement each other
The background you select should be in line with your presentation or else it might put off your audience. Make sure to use a background that doesn’t conflict with the views your audience holds. Instead, tend to focus on backgrounds that help you communicate your message clearly rather than just for showing off.
Select an uncluttered design
To visualize any aspect that you want, you should go with a solid background. On the other hand, very busy backgrounds may interfere with the text display among other elements, making it hard for your audience to figure it out. An uncluttered background will not only enhance your video presentation, but also make it eye catching.
Use looping only when necessary
It isn’t commendable to use looping, but if it does help you convey a message better, then you should definitely use it. However, make sure that the loops you select are integrated perfectly so that it becomes quite hard to detect the starting point and end point. You should also put more effort into getting that seamless look that is appealing to your audience. When choosing background loops, don’t rush in similar fashion to selecting a solid background if you are to make them appealing.
Choose the right encoding
Make sure to choose a background with an encoding that is compatible with your video recording or presentation platform. You shouldn’t go for heavy formats that make it hard to stream the video under normal circumstances. You should also have in mind the right resolution and the frame size that is needed for your video. If you are to use plugins, go for those that work with the format of the video background you have opted for.
